A little bit about us

We are a family run business that has been operating since 1945, our facility has grown over the years and we have constantly upgraded our premises and equipment required for de-polluting vehicles and buying and handling of scrap metals. We are now one of the leading vehicle dismantlers in Cumbria and South West Scotland.

Our site is 10 acres and holds over 2000 vehicles on site at any time.

We deal with the public and trade alike supplying recycled parts and handling of scrap metals.

We work with both Carlisle City Council and Allerdale Borough Council to remove abandoned vehicles.  We hold all relevant up-to-date permits and licenses to enable us to operate a safe, environmentally friendly site.

Legal Requirements

Due to Government Laws enforced on 1st October 2013 we can only pay for your vehicle or scrap metal by bank transfer, which will be in your account the same day, or we can issue you a cheque.

Identification is required by law for all vehicles & scrap metals.

(the ID accepted is a UK photocard driving licence or a UK original passport plus a recent utility bill (within the last 3 months) showing your current address.)

How we try to do our bit

Recycling

We aim to, whenever possible, reuse and recycle as much of the vehicle as we can to minimise the waste that ends up in land fill sites, it also saves the customer money as buying new parts can be expensive.

Also the recycling of parts requires less energy than the production of new parts which benefits the environment.

Scrap Metals

We offer great prices for your scrap metal, both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, from the General Public, Scrap Metal Merchants, Business’s and Local Trade.

Legal Requirements

Environmental legislation and regulations require all vehicles to be de-polluted and disposed of correctly, they must be drained of all harmful fluids and the hazardous and non-hazardous waste must be handled and stored correctly in an environmentally friendly manner.

Scrapping your Car

If your vehicle has come to its end of life we can collect your vehicle free of charge within a 45 mile radius and pay cash on collection, alternatively you can bring your vehicle to our site. Identification is required by law for all vehicles disposed of.
Your vehicle will be disposed of using environment and government approved methods. You can contact us on (01228) 520109 to organise a collection.

Scrap Metals

We offer great prices for your scrap metal both ferrous and non-ferrous metals from the general public, scrap metal merchants, business’s and local trade.
We accept ferrous metals such as heavy steel and vehicles and non-ferrous such as lead, aluminum and copper.

Part Worn Tyres

We sell a wide range of stock of part worn tyres which are fitted and balanced on site ready for you to drive safely away.

Part Worn Tyres

We have two Tyre Fitting Machines and two Tyre Balancing Machines, using the latest equipment from Rema Tip Top.
Puncture Repairs is also a service we offer.
